Display principle and negative display characteristics
In VA technology, the liquid crystal molecules are arranged perpendicularly to the substrate without voltage, completely blocking the backlight, resulting in a pure black background; when powered on, the molecules tilt, allowing light to pass through and presenting bright content, which belongs to the negative display mode. It requires a backlight to be used, and the characters contrast sharply against the black background.
There is no light leakage problem in the black background, and the contrast ratio can reach up to 1200:1, far exceeding that of TN/STN screens. The character edges are clear without any blurriness.
